Successful Podcasts and KBase

Team,

Thank you for your hard work yesterday. We submitted the Zymo ITS libraries and will continue working to prepare for the use of the Nanopore sequencer next week. While the results of our libraries were not ideal, we learned from the experience!

Work with your teams or individually to brainstorm ideas for engaging podcasts that help explain concepts in metagenomics and microbial community analysis. I challenge you to think about how to convey information with sound in an engaging way.

KBase: work on KBase this week. If you encounter issues, first post on the Student Help forum so that we all learn together. Respond to your peers. We often search for bioinformatics help on forums or by asking peers. Please note that KBase will be down for maintenance next Wednesday.

Remember to complete your lab discussion questions and lab entries. For your lab entries, focus on the QIAGEN 16S/ITS Screening Panel kit and your table’s results. Write your entry and methods in your own words and in paragraph format for a publication. You may also want to refer to the handbook (opens in new window) in addition to LabArchives.
